The Afri Bar
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SUBJ: WHAT ARE SOCIO-POLITICAL EXAMPLES THAT MAY HARM THE AFRI BAR?
APRIL 16, 2024
While we understand that disagreements are at times inevitable, racism can be destructive and the Afri Bar does not condone, foster, or tolerate an environment of direct or covert racism which may lead to a disruption in our environment. The Afri Bar is an establishment built on respect for community, resort, self, residents, employees, and Guests.
It is our position that a political, religious, or racial endorsement or disapproval of the above is an endorsement that sends a message to non-adherents that they are outsiders, not full members of a political, racial, or religious community, and an accompanying message to adherents that they are insiders and favored members of a political, racial, or religious community, and such endorsements are not in line with our mission statement and Village Resorts Hospitality Group, LLC, and the Company’s they manage, own and operate does not adhere to social, political, or religious movements.
Examples of structural socio-political factors that can lead to a disruption within the environment include security, poverty, national wealth, income inequality, social integration and political conflicts to name a few, and the Afri Bar to include Village Resorts Hospitality Group, LLC, and the Company’s they manage, own, and operate, are legally registered as California Limited Liability Company’s and not a race based or social based organization.
While the assimilation of the LGBTQ community into mainstream society began many years ago the very concept of the Afri Bar is to preserve the gay culture as the distinction between gay, LGBTQ, and straight culture have been reported to become so blurred, and in some ways fractured, it has been described that “the very concept of gay culture may one day disappear altogether” and as a legal right Urban Ground Resort, LLC, to include Village Resorts Hospitality Group, LLC, and the Company’s we manage, own, and operate have curated a privately owned property known as the Afri Bar as our way of preserving what has been described as a declining gay culture.
As previously expressed, the Founder and President of Village Resorts Hospitality Group, LLC, owner of the Afri Bar once began to file a series of complaints alleging discrimination and reprisal for whistleblowing on the bases of race (African American), color (Black), gender (male), sexual orientation (gay), and a hostile work environment who's complaints have led to a series of ongoing litigation, complaints and a Nationwide healthcare scandal and it has become the opinion of Village Resorts Hospitality Group, LLC, as unfortunate as it may be, we believe, in further acts of retaliation, we have reasonable grounds to believe that hostile actions exist for his actions taken during his former career and his perceived positions regarding the operations of the Afri Bar and Village Resorts Hospitality Group operations.
The conduct and operations of the Afri Bar depends like all other businesses, in large, on the rules, laws, and regulations that govern how businesses operate, and social, political, and religious movements are defined as an organized effort by a body of people, organizations, institutions, or governments organized to achieve a particular goal usually social, political, or religious and in most cases social movements may be carried out to exact a social change, resist social change, or undo social change and the Afri Bar is a social, political, and religious free establishment who’s conduct of business is guided by our intent, purpose, and mission statement.
The Afri Bar has carefully curated an environment as the first of its kind as a bar and grill aimed at the gay Black and African American male demographic first because homophobia, stigma, and discrimination can be especially hard for Black and African American men who are gay or bisexual who maintain relationships with men and have sex with men, and these negative attitudes can increase their chance of experiencing violence which can include behaviors such as bullying, teasing, harassment, physical assault, and suicide-related behaviors and the Afri Bar primary purpose is to lessen the effects of homophobia, stigma, and discrimination by curating an environment that favors social recreation, stimulation, and social activity free of fear and oppression against gay Black and African American men as we champion an environment free of fear and oppression as our way of preserving what has been described as a declining gay culture encouraging the protection of their physical, sexual, and mental health.
The Afri Bar by right does not adhere to social, political, or religious movements regardless, as the conduct of our business depends in large on the rules, laws, and regulations that govern how the Afri Bar operates and not the perceptions, opinions, and misapplication of perceptions and opinions in the conduct of our business.
Considered as the first of its kind in terms of structure, offerings, and availability, the Afri Bar understands that patrons who may be gay but non Black or African American may be interested in frequenting the Afri Bar and in response the Afri Bar has developed what we call “The Afri Community Days.”
The Afri Community Days is an opportunity open to the broader LGBTQ community to patronize the Afri Bar on “pre advertised days” at our sole discretion allowing the broader LGBTQ community access to the Afri Bar to include our products, goods, and services without disrupting our normal operating procedures and operations curated for and marketed towards gay Black and African American men within the urban gay male demographic.
While Urban Ground Resort, LLC, and the Afri Bar are pleased to offer the broader LGBTQ community access to the Afri Bar during its “pre advertised days” only, known as the Afri Community Days, We are under no legal or social obligation to offer our services to any category outside our targeted market and demographic audience and the Afri Bar does not discriminate, and discrimination will not be tolerated and we are under no legal or social obligation to tailor or alter the experience’s or operations of the Afri Bar for any other purpose thereof. Our targeted and market audience simply remains that of gay Black and African American men first based on our intent and mission statement while at our sole discretion warmly welcoming all others during the Afri Community Days to experience the Afri Bar Grill Lounge.
From time to time at our sole discretion Urban Ground Resort, LLC, may limit, restrict, deny, or expand its products, goods, and services to any one person, group, or entity based on the type of products, goods, or services in question at the time of limitation, restriction, denial, expansion, amendment, or modification in our sole and absolute discretion.
Thank you for your interest in the Afri Bar.
We reserve all rights in our sole and absolute discretion.
